2022 Shooting Stars Visual Arts Reception and Musical Showcase

The Watauga Education Foundation invites you to join us on Friday, April 1st from 4:30pm – 7:00pm at the Jones House in Downtown Boone for the 2022 Shooting Stars Visual Arts Reception and Musical Showcase!

The annual event features the artwork and musical talent of students from the Watauga County Public School System.  Selected artwork will be displayed at the Jones House for the entire month of April.

Thank you to the many Watauga Education Foundation friends and sponsors for their continued support and organization of Shooting Stars, including Watauga County Schools faculty, staff, and administration.

2021 Classroom Grant Recipient: Brenda Blalock of Mabel School

Brenda Blalock of Mabel School to purchase “New Books to Build Proficient Readers.”  Grant funds will be used to purchase newer, more up-to-date reading materials to focus on reading accuracy, comprehension, and fluency.  The two sets will include 18 leveled books each, along with a classroom starter pack, Teacher’s guide, and test evidence questions for the reading specialist.

2022 Kate Swift Reese Scholarship Deadline Approaching!

The Kate Swift Reese Scholarship helps a Watauga High School graduate attend college.  This scholarship fund was started in 2009 by the children of Mrs. Kate Swift Reese, who was an indomitable force in the Beaver Dam area of Watauga County.
